The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation gathered the ambassadors of the OIC countries on KazanForum
A meeting of the leadership of the Strategic Vision Group "Russia – the Islamic World" with the ambassadors of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was held today at the Reception House of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow. The meeting was attended by about 40 ambassadors of the OIC member States.
During the meeting, the upcoming event "Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum" was discussed.
"At the end of May, Kazan will host the International Economic Forum "Russia – the Islamic World: Kazanforum", which has already reached the federal level. It will be held simultaneously with a special meeting of the Strategic Vision Group. I hope that dear colleagues, the ambassadors of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, will inform their leadership about the upcoming event and will do everything to make it a success," Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
"Today, the Islamic world is a unique civilizational community with its own interests in international politics, economics and humanitarian cooperation, the Islamic economy is the most important part of the world economy," RT Rais.
KazanForum is an economic platform for the Group's activities, in this sense it is unique – there is no such forum in Russia," said Rustam Minnikhanov.
The head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan told what awaits the guests at the forum:
"This year we will have 200 different events. Meetings of intergovernmental commissions will be held on May 17. On May 18 and 19, more than 140 sessions and a rich tourist and cultural program will be held. A special event is the Congress of Religious Figures on May 20 and, of course, the traditional holiday of the adoption of Islam in Russia, which will be held in the Ancient city of Bolgar on May 21. This holiday takes place every year, but there are always its own peculiarities. This year we plan to bring 11 relics of the Prophet Muhammad, which will certainly be a major event and attract many guests. See you at KazanForum," - Taliya Minullina.
