Tatarstan builds up high-tech cooperation and develops trade and economic relations with China
Taliya Minullina paid a working visit to the People's Republic of China and discussed the prospects for developing business contacts with the top management of the industrial heavy hitters of Shaanxi and Guangdong provinces.

Tatarstan and China have strong partner relationships: there are 7 cooperation agreements with the provinces of Shandong, Hunan, Sichuan, Anhui, Heilongjiang, Zhejiang and Chongqing; at the municipal level, 14 agreements on cooperation in the field of trade and economic relations, development of cultural, educational, tourist and other areas have been signed.
Under the League of Historical Cities, where various projects and programs in the field of culture, history, art and science are being implemented, cooperation with the capital of Shaanxi Province, the city of Xi'an, is ongoing. All this contributed to the fact that over the past 3 years, the foreign trade turnover between Tatarstan and China has more than doubled. In 2019, the production of Haier washing machines was launched in the Naberezhnye Chelny Priority Social and Economic Development Area; the Pioner Industrial Park and the Russia-China Kamastal plant for galvanized coiled steel painting was opened in Nizhnekamsk.
As part of a business visit to Xi'an, Taliya Minullina visited the Yaobai cement corporation: she got acquainted with economic performance, studied the activities of the new research center, and the work of the big data center from industrial facilities. Yaobai is a partner of West China Cement Limited, a leading cement producer and distributor in Northwest China. This is a large group of production and marketing enterprises, represented by 35 branches and subsidiaries in Shaanxi, Guizhou and Xinjiang provinces.
Also, Taliya Minullina has examined the production facilities of the largest industrial player in Shaanxi Province – Fuping Company (Yaobai Corporation). The prospects for the implementation of joint projects have been discussed with the top management of the leading supplier of cement products located in the hometown of the father of the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping (Fuping Town). The Chinese side is highly motivated to establish partner relations. Tatarstan, in turn, shares the principles of the company that strictly complies with environmental standards, uses advanced technologies in production and safety. The products are widely used in the construction of large concrete blocks, in the construction of high-altitude tunnels, high-speed highways, railways, bridges, tunnels, reservoirs, dams, runways, and in the construction of industrial and civil structures.

In Zhuhai, the Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency visited a high-tech company, where she studied the developments of Hengqin GHLC. The company has 6 overseas offices, 35 patents, focuses on marine high technology, energy security industry, healthcare, digital economy, researches in industry and industrialization. In an effort to strengthen business relations, Taliya Minullina invited the head, Yuxi Meng, and the company representatives to pay a return visit to Tatarstan in the first half of 2020.

In addition, Taliya Minullina held talks with the CEO of the world-leading construction conglomerate – China Railway Group Limited, known as CREC – on the possibility of implementing investment projects in Tatarstan.

“Tatarstan is an entry point for Chinese companies to the Russian market. We have everything for this: a raw material base, logistics, and investment infrastructure. We provide comprehensive support to our investors. China is a strategic partner for Tatarstan. Collaboration is developing in various fields. Now we are working on a joint venture based on the Alabuga SEZ, the so-called Russia-China SEZ. And today, in China, we together take a practical step to promote China-Russia regional cooperation, trade and economic exchange, and expand investment flows to Tatarstan,” said Taliya Minullina.
