Representatives of the TCI Network inspect Tatarstan


Kazan has won the right to host the 23rd Global Conference of the TCI Network International Cluster Development and Innovation Association on October 14–16, 2020. The application was prepared by the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, the Innokam Association, and the National Research University “Higher School of Economics”. As part of the conference preparation, the Republic was visited by representatives of the TCI Network, including experts from development agencies, government departments, clusters, research institutions, and businesses from 110 countries of the world.

“Welcome to the Republic of Tatarstan! Tatarstan is a unique Russian region, a leader in terms of investment climate and business hospitality; its competitiveness is based on its rare ability to fuse rich traditions, fundamental and systemic approach to every detail with dynamic zeal for new victories, new horizons, and new technologies.

Tatarstan is in the top three most innovative Russian regions.

The TCI Network Conference will feature international experts and is sure to accelerate the cluster development of the Russian economy.

Hosting the large-scale global events, we start the mechanism of interaction. We will be glad to become a reliable long-term partner for all participants!” Taliya Minullina, the Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, greeted the guests at the interdepartmental session featuring representatives of clusters.

The topics for the 2020 Conference, proposed by the organizers, include “Cooperation for cluster development: creating the future” within the 3 C’s approach (Cities, Collaboration, Creative environment).

“We are delighted by the Tatarstan hospitality and the organization of our visit. We are certain that the Conference will be up to the mark!” stressed Merete Daniel Nielsen, the President of the TCI Network.

The Conference is the largest international event in the sphere of regional competitiveness. It is held annually since 1998 in outstanding cities and regions, renowned for building innovation development strategies and strong clusters.

Based on Strategy 2030, the economic policy of Tatarstan is aimed at forming and developing of clusters, enhancing their interaction in order to create new products, technologies, and services, and promote competitiveness of the region. The cluster approach implies larger opportunities for businesses to participate in elaborating and implementing the key directions of economic policy in Tatarstan, and to gain state support.

The TCI Network Global Conference has not yet been held in the territory of Russia and CIS. Such events transfer global technologies and knowledge, improve the image of the country in the global expert community, and develop business tourism. Attracting departmental business events of international scale to Tatarstan is the task of a Convention Bureau, founded under the aegis of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.
