XIII International Research-to-Practice Conference “Modern Engineering Systems. Health Architecture (MES-2019)”

On December 5, the Korston Hotel & Mall, Kazan, will host the research-to-practice conference “Modern Engineering Systems in Health Architecture” (Modern Engineering Systems – MES) where, traditionally, the leading foreign and Russian experts in the field of architecture, design and IT will gather.

MES is the only conference in Russia on the design and construction of medical infrastructure. It is an interdisciplinary communication platform for designers, architects, representatives of operating clinic services, and manufacturers of equipment and materials, serving as a driving force for the development of urban infrastructure and increasing the attractiveness and competitiveness of regions.

The Republic of Tatarstan, a fast-moving region with a well-developed system of healthcare and medical services, was chosen as the venue. The organizers of the event are the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Public Utilities of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan, Interregional Clinical Diagnostic Center, Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering.

“Based on the Strategy for Social and Economic Development of Tatarstan up to 2030, we strive to improve the quality of life of the public. The healthcare industry is a priority for us. It is observed in the national projects of Russia as well. The task that faces the republic is the creation of favorable conditions for the development of innovative “smart” medicine companies. For that to happen, we consider the best global practices and together with the expert community generate solutions to respond to current challenges and further implement the successful projects,” said Taliya Minullina, the Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.

Among those who speak at the forum will be the representatives of the strongest architectural bureaus from Europe, the USA and Russia, the heads of clinics, industry regulatory authorities and experts, including Debra Levin, the President and CEO of Center for Health Design (USA), Michael Pukszta, the Healthcare Practice Director at CannonDesign, Hieronimus Nickl, the architect, the Management Board Member of Nickl & Partner Architekten (Germany), Cynthia McCullough, the Director of Clinical Services for HDR Architecture (USA), the representatives of Philips from Russia and Central Asia and many others. The heads of the relevant ministries of the Russian regions will also take part in the event.

As part of the business program, the cases on the construction, design and reconstruction of clinics, diagnostic and rehabilitation centers will be presented. The architectural image of medical institutions; design of clinics as spaces that form a culture of health; changes in the hygiene requirements in connection with new diseases; compliance of the design with the clinic’s functionality – these and a number of other issues will be considered by the experts from the USA, Colombia, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Canada, India and Russia.

The business program will be expanded by the work of the industry exhibition exposition, where participants may establish new contacts with manufacturers and partners.
