Vth International conference «Interventions to extend healthspan and lifespan» will be held in Kazan on April 23-25 Scientists, heads of medical companies, experts and leading researchers from 17 countries will gather to discuss issues of lifetime extension and healthy living sustenance. The first conference was held 10 years ago, and with each year the event becomes more and more actual and attracts new participants. The jubilee event is organized by Initiium-Pharm LLC (Limited Liability Company) with the support of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency The scientific supervision will be done by Corr. Member of RAS, Ph.D. of Biological Sciences Alexey Moskalev.
Human ageing is one of the most complicated biological processes, defining life longiness as well as quality. At the end of the 19th century average lifetime in Europe resulted in 40 years for women and 35 years for men, and at the beginning of the 21st century it reached 81 years for women and 79 years for men, constantly increasing for 3 years each 10 years. Share of elderly people grows, leading to rising quantity of chronicle socially important diseases occurrence as cardiovascular, oncological, diabetical of 2 type, arterial hypertension, ostheoporosis. Well-being of elderly generation, health care system effectiveness and social care depend on development of experimental approaches to aging consequences slow-down or reversal. This area of biomedicine is tightly connected with 4 p concept of future medicine (predictive, precautionary, participatory and personified). Issues of genetic and epigenetic aging mechanisms, geroprotective interference, biomarkers of aging and lifespan providing ability for therapy effectiveness assessment will be discussed at the conference. Issues of environment factors influence on aging processes will also be considered.
Tatarstan is a dynamically developing region with average lifetime of 73 years. It is not the highest performance in the world but among regions of Russia Tatarstan traditionally hits top-10. Last years positive dynamics and rise of this indicator were observed. High level of life, constant development of ecological situation in the region, leading active lifestyle and going in for physical activities contribute to this as far as conditions for that everything necessary is provided. In 2018 in Tatarstan concept of pharmapolis creation will be developed and realized for attraction of pharmaceutical companies. R&D, producers and suppliers of medicine, services and equipment will populate pharmaceutical clasters. Their geographical closeness will increase competitive advantage of companies and of the claster as a whole.

The conference will give site to the leading scientists and science stars from more than 30 universities and 17 countries who will present the latest results of research in active lifespan, will discuss perspectives and implementation trends, commercialization, will make contact and establish partnership. Such worldknown experts as James Kirkland, specialist of Mayo clinic (USA), Claudio Franceschi, University of Bologna (Italy), Brian K. Kennedy, Dario Riccardo Valenzano, Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing (Germany), and many other specialists will take part in the conference.
The event will be open by panel discussion, moderated by the Russian journalist and TV host Boris Korchevnikov.
