Eastern Economic Forum completed its work in Primorye. More on the results for Tatarstan

On September 11-13, 2018 the Eastern Economic Forum took place in Vladivostok. During three working days, the Russian Island was attended by 6 thousand participants, including the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan headed by the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

The representatives of the republic took part in the plenary session, during which the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, Prime Minister of Japan Shinzō Abe, Prime Minister of South Korea Lee Nak-yeon and President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga took the floor.

In the frames of business program, the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina spoke at the session "PPP in Sports: New Opportunities for Investors". Taliya Minullina reported that on November 7, 2018 the Second Industry-specific forum on public-private partnership "Investments in the sports industry" will take place in the capital of Tatarstan.

A number of business meetings was held on the field of the forum, including one with the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Republic of India Suresh Prabhu. He noted the great potential of cooperation between India and Tatarstan in the areas of agriculture, IT, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas production.

The President of Mongolia, in his turn, was interested in the development of tyre production in Tatarstan. Khaltmaagiin Battulga noted that strengthening of trade and economic relations between Mongolia and the Russian regions as a priority task.

In the frames of the forum, the meetings with the leaders of Chinese provinces Sichuan, Zhejiang and Shandong were held. Many Chinese companies are successfully working in Tatarstan. It should be reminded that on August 22, 2018 the Consulate General of China was officially opened in Kazan. The development of bilateral relations contributes to the investment flow from the Celestial Empire to the lands of Tatarstan.

"The participation in the Eastern Economic Forum became effective for the republic. We managed to establish new contacts with Asian investors. One of the key moments was the signing of the agreement on establishment of a joint venture for the production of industrial engines by "Kamaz" company and Chinese corporation Weichai Power", - the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina.

Also on the sidelines of the forum the signing of the cooperation agreement between the State Autonomous Health care Institution "Children's Republican Clinical Hospital" of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Clinic of Chinese and European Medicine of the Sichuan province and the agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical, social, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Government of Zhejiang province were signed.

"Yokogawa electric" company, which is one of the reliable partners of Tatarstan, also participated in the forum. Japanese company implemented on the territory of the republic about 30 different projects and plans to continue this work. The President of the company Takashi Nishijima reported that this concerns both the cooperation with the educational institutions and cooperation with oil enterprises. "Yokogawa electric" plans joint work with the University of Innopolis in the field of software development for petrochemical enterprises.

In the frames of the Eastern Economic Forum 2018, the booth of Tatarstan was represented, where the participants learned about investment and economic potential of the republic and also noted the Tatarstan hospitality.
