Tatarstan and Turkey: new stage of interaction

The Head of Tatarstan Investment Agency Taliya Minullina took part in the meeting of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov with the representatives of Organized Industrial Zone "GOSB" headed by its Board President Vahit Yildirim. The meeting was held in Tatarstan Government House. Then the negotiations continued in the office of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.

The key topic of the discussion became the creation of a joint industrial zone on a base of Sviyazhsk Multimodal Logistics Center in the Republic of Tatarstan.

During the meeting, the representatives of the Turkish side explained that they got acquainted with industrial site of Sviyazhsk Multimodal Logistics Center, its opportunities of transport logistics in combining river, road and rail access, and other advantages of the site.

While welcoming guests, Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that today there are already 10 projects operating with participation of Turkish investments in the republic, including enterprises on the territory of Special Economic zone "Alabuga", joint projects on petrochemical plants and others. He added that the joint project of the development of Sviyazhsk logistics center was discussed with Turkish partners in 2015.

The President of Organized Industrial Zone "GOSB" Board Vahit Yildirim, in his turn, noticed that there are a lot of such industrial zones created and operating in Turkey. He added, that Sviyazhsk Multimodal Logistics Center is of particular interest as it offers all conditions for doing business.

The President of Tatarstan suggested creating a working group on the joint project of Sviyazhsk Multimodal Logistics Center. "It is important to define the form of our cooperation", - Rustam Minnikhanov noted, - "The common points of the project development are required". He emphasized that the republic has wide experience in implementing joint projects with foreign investors. In conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue discussing the project in a month following the results of the working group.

"Turkey is our foreign investor leading in accrued capital. The establishment of joint site of industrial type is a good start for both sides. Now, when it is early spring in Russian-Turkish relations, the "Tatarstan-Turkish tulip" can blossom", - the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina marked.

Organized Industrial Zone "GOSB" is situated in the district of Gebze, on the border between the cities of Istanbul and Kocaeli, with the area of 537 hectares. It was founded in 1986. Currently, 156 companies including 42 foreign enterprises are registered in GOSB. The company employs 22 thousands people.

GOSB is the most dynamically developing and the first organized industrial zone of Turkey and in the world, fully funded by the investors without any credit. Export of the enterprises working in the zone is valued at over $1 billion, and investments are estimated at about $1,35 billion. The scope of activity of the zone's residents includes mechanic engineering, automobile production, vehicle components production, IT industry, production of food, plastic materials, electric equipment, electronics and others. The companies from Germany, Austria, USA, Denmark, Finland, France, Netherlands, Great Britain, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Israel, Japan, Luxembourg and South Korea are operating in GOSB.

The zone provides its residents with different services, including licenses and permits: plotting, building permit, wastewater treatment and fire safety certificates, business license and others. A technopark, banks, schools, art gallery, exhibition and recreational centers are situated on the territory of the zone.
