Tatarstan and Kazakhstan: new prospects for cooperation
On June 26-28, 2017, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency organized a visit of the working group to the Republic of Kazakhstan to discuss cooperation with JSC "National Managing Holding "Baiterek".
On June 27, in the framework of the visit the meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Board of JCS "National Managing Holding "Baiterek" Aidar Arifkhanov and Chairman of the Board of «Kazakhstan Project Preparation Fund» Adil Utembayev was held, focused on implementation of joint projects. The holding expressed its willingness to act as a co-investor to carry out various projects.
At the meeting with the management of JSC "National Agency for Technological Development", such questions as possible interactions and development of joint projects, including the one with JSC SEZ "Innopolis", transfer of technologies, as well as exchange of experience in operations of investment infrastructure facilities of Tatarstan were discussed. In addition, the Agency has taken the initiative to attract Tatarstan's IT specialists to develop digital technologies in Kazakhstan.
During the visit to the head office of JSC "Development Bank of Kazakhstan" and meeting with the management of "DBK-Leasing", presentation of the organization development strategy was held, as well as the possibility of cooperation in interbank funding, transactions with enterprises of Tatarstan, expanding the range of supplies of PJSC "Kamaz" using DBK-Leasing was raised.
At the meeting with representatives of JSC «Kazyna Capital Management» the prospects of attracting investment of company's funds in the projects with participation of the Republic of Tatarstan were discussed.
On June 28, the agreement on cooperation between PJSC "Export corporation of the Republic of Tatarstan" and JSC "Export Insurance Company "KazakhExport" was signed, the presentation of the substantive areas of KazakhExport was made and the questions of collaboration on expanding export operations between the republics were raised.
Also, on June 28, the meeting with the leadership of JSC "Damu" Entrepreneurship Development Fund" was held, the activities of the fund were presented, including the basic financial instruments to support small and medium-sized business. The delegation of Tatarstan examined the work of Fund's Entrepreneurs Service Center and got acquainted with the activities of front-office of this organization.
Moreover, the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan visited Technopark "Alatau" and manufacturing sites with the main residents, held a meeting with the managers of technopark to discuss priority ways of economic zone's development, including experience exchange and exploring possible ways of mutually benefitial cooperation.
The delegation of the republic also visited the Akimat of Almaty and held the negotiations on potential ways of joint work in development and support of small and medium-sized business, as well as possible visit of the delegation of Almaty region to the Republic of Tatarstan in 2017.
At the end of the visit of the working group to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency together with Kazakhstan party will prepare the Road Map with the main areas of cooperation and competent officials from each of the parties.
It should be reminded that in April 2017, the representatives of Holding "Baiterek" visited SEZ "Alabuga", SEZ "Innopolis" and Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, got acquainted with the Territory of Advanced Social and Economic Development of Naberezhnye Chelny. In June 2017, in the framework of the opening of the World EXPO in Astana, the CEO of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina held a meeting with the leaders of "Baiterek" company, resulted in cooperative arrangements in four areas: small and medium-sized business, trade, IT, agriculture.
