Strength is in cooperation

In November last year, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency organized a working visit of the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan to the USA. During the visit, the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the Governor of California Jerry Brown.

Tatarstan Investment Development Agency is working on a visit of a working group on development of cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and the state of California to the United Stated of America. The visit is scheduled on March this year and implies official meetings with the representatives of leading companies and  business community of the USA. A "Roadmap" which is the set of measures for the development of cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and the state of California was developed by the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.

So today, on January 20, the first meeting on implementation of this project was held. The Working Group comprised Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Artyom Zdunov, Director General of JSC "SEZ Alabuga" Timur Shagivaleev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Denis Valeev, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Information and Communication of the Republic of Tatarstan Roman Shaykhutdinov, Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan Adel Vafin, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan Andrey Pominov, First Deputy Minister of agriculture and foodstuff of Republic of Tatarstan Nikolay Titov and the Head of Tatarstan Investment development Agency Taliya Minullina, who acted as the Chairperson. 

In her opening remarks, Taliya Minullina greeted the colleagues and noted: "Relations with the United States is a complicated process. Hovewer, the bonds are developing. Today, a lot of American companies are developing their business in Tatarstan. In particular, the companies "Ford" and "Sollers" are engaged in production of automobiles on the territory of SEZ "Alabuga", the auto giant "KAMAZ" established a joint enterprise in cooperation with "Cummins" (engine manufacturing) and "Federal-Mogul Corporation".

In cooperation with the leading in America Carnegie Mellon University, IT-University in SEZ "Innopolis" was created.

Our task is not just to establish abstract mutually beneficial cooperation, but to realize concrete investment projects. One of the main tasks is to find companies-partners for collaborative mutually beneficial work on the territory of SEZ "Innopolis". That was the very reason the working group including the heads of various branches of our Republic was created".

In addition, the Head of the Agency presented the project of the "Road map". Next, the project of the working group on cooperation of the Republic of Tatarstan with the state of California was presented, the questions of implementation of the plan of events were discussed, and the proposals for a series of specific investment project from the participants of the meeting were listened to.

California ranks first among USA by the volume of the gross domestic product. The most important sectors of the economy of the state are agriculture, aerospace industry, extraction and processing of oil, show-business, information technologies.
