Strenghtening Tatarstan’s human capacity

The Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency participated in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Vice-President and general director of MSD (Merck Sharp & Dohme, USA) in Russia Leonardo Santarelli on June 16, in the framework of St.Petersburg International Economic Forum. Sergey Zverev, Executive Director in Federal Market Access & External Affairs of MSD also took part in the morning meeting.

MSD branch in Russia OJSC MSD Pharmaceuticals is placed the third among pharmaceutical companies in a number of international multicentral clinical studies launched in 2015. There are 9 clinical studies at the moment based on Kazan State Medical University of Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The company develops new medicinal drugs in the field of cardiovascular illnesses, diabetes, respiratory diseases and immunology, transmissible diseases, oncology, neurology and ophthalmology.

The Tatarstan Ministry of Health jointly with the MSD, Kazan State Medical University and Kazan Governmental Medical Academy are planning to develop a program of monitoring healthcare delivery quality from the perspective of epidemiologic safety.

Signing of agreement between MSD Pharmaceuticals and the Kazan State Medical University of Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation on priority clinical research conducting is planned in perspective in the framework of partnership development in the field of clinical research.

«Working closely with large medical universities of Europe and USA and practicing in development of post-graduate education on the base of Russian leading universities, MSD Pharmaceuticals issued a proposal of joint projects, focused on science expertise and competence development in medicine based at Kazan State Medical University. Development of human capacity of the Republic of Tatarstan is the main goal of the projects.» — noted Taliya Minullina.
