Shipbuilding industry in Tatarstan: a new level
Press release on signing an agreement between OJSC Tatarstan Export Corporation and PHC «Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky».
On 8 June 2016, an agreement between OJSC Tatarstan Export Corporation, supervised by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and PHC «Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky» was signed.
Directions of mutual cooperation in product promotion of PHC"Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky" to countries of Africa and Persian Gulf were defined in the agreement.
Commenting the agreement signed, Taliya Minullina noted: «„Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky“ is one of the largest and strategically important Russian enterprises in shipbuilding industry. The large-scale program of modernization and technical re-equipment of the enterprise has been implemented since 2011. Over the 120 years of operation more than 1500 naval and riverine chips, including 600 warships, were built in the plant for export. Our intention is to increase sales and form demand for ships, which have already been proven all over the world. We certainly will work on issue of localization of some foreign suppliers of the plant».
Publicly Held Company «Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky» was established in 1985 and is now one of the leading enterprises in Russia in shipbuilding. The plant joined OJSC «AkBars Holding», which gave an additional impulse for development. Management system optimization was implemented, renewed orders’ portfolio was formed.
The enterprise operates in three main fields: shipbuilding, machine construction, metallurgical production and large-sized metal structures. The main specialization of the company in the shipbuilding is a production of special-purpose ships, cross functional naval (river-sea) bulk carriers, container ships, tankers, high-speed passenger aluminum alloy liners. Enterprise produces engineering and metallurgic products, as well as shipbuilding production.
An advantageous geographical location allows «Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky» to deliver ships through inland waterways in every region of Black, Caspian, Baltic, Barents and White Seas. Thus, production of the enterprise can be delivered in every Russian region and all over the world.
