Russia and Turkey agreed on supply of 50 thousand tons of tomatoes

Before November 1, up to 50 thousand tons of tomatoes will be delivered to Russia from Turkey. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of the country Alexander Novak following the Russian-Turkish intergovernmental commission that took place on October 21 in Kazan.

In Kazan, the Russian energy minister said that together with his Turkish counterpart, Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekchy, agreements have been reached to lift restrictions for joint economic activities.

In the future, work on lifting restrictions in trade and economic activities between the countries will continue, Mr. Zeybekchy approved in his turn.

In Kazan, on October 21, the 15th meeting of the Russian-Turkish intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation was held, chaired by the Minister of Energy of Russia Alexander Novak and the Minister of Economy of Turkey, Nihat Zeybekchy. The meeting was attended by the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Talia Minullina.

Talia Minullina presented to Mr. Zeybekchy Turkish investment achievements of Tatarstan, told about the growth of trade turnover in the first half of 2017 by 58%. Within the framework of the meeting, the Turkish guests were presented an exhibition of enterprises from various sectors of the economy of the republic.

Earlier, Nihat Zeibecchi met with Rustam Minnikhanov, the Ppresident of Tatarstan. It should be reminded that the republic has organized work with one of the largest industrial zones of Turkey "Gebze", which is ready to act as an operator for the development of the Sviyazhsky multimodal complex and SEZ located in Tatarstan.

In addition, on 2017, the "TAIF-NK" company's plant of deep processing of oil is planned to be launched, in the construction of which the Turkish company "Gemont" participates.

Turkish companies have already invested more than $2 billion in Tatarstan. More than 10 Turkish plants are successfully functioning in the republic, work in this sphere is performed continuously.
