"No art is more useful than medicine"

On April 13, the representatives of the Belorussian company "Belmedsnab" and the large Russian company CJSC "Delrus" visited the Republic of Tatarstan. During the trip, the guests visited Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, where the investment potential of the Republic of Tatarstan was presented.

For the first time, International conference on radiosurgery will take place in Kazan

The main purpose of the visit of Belorussian delegation is the discussion of the possibility to establish new production on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as participation in educational course of International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society.

On April 14-15, the International conference on Radiosurgery, gathering the best lecturers from Latvia, the USA, Japan, Canada, Norway, takes place in Kazan for the first time.

In the frames of the Course of Oncology, the neurosurgeons, endocrinologists, radiotherapists from Russia and abroad discuss such topics as "Radiosurgery for tumor resection cavity after removal of brain metastases:  results of the randomized trial", "Radiosurgery and radiotherapy in treating pancreatic cancer", and "CyberKnife radiosurgery of pancreatic and liver cancer".

"No art is more useful than medicine. That is why we chose the field of medicine to implement the PPP project. I would like to underline the fact that Tatarstan was the first to use medical equipment of such level. This contributed in choice of Kazan as a venue for such a large-scale conference. In future, it is planned to create the first in Russia educational center based on Tatarstan Regional Clinical Cancer Center with participation of our partners", - the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina shared.

PPP project: health care of an international level in Tatarstan

To date, the most successful investment projects implemented on the principle of public-private partnership are the projects in the social area. The concession still remains the basic form of implementation of PPP projects in Russia as a whole. The health industry has traditionally been attractive to the private sector, bearing in mind readiness to finance the creation of health facilities due to their social value.

Thus, due to active work of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and the support of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov the concession agreement between the Republic of Tatarstan and Volga Center of Tomotherapy "Saknur" was signed. The center will provide medical care, namely the services of tomotherapy, to oncological patients. The equipment of Accuray company oncological diseases treatment is now being installed.

The Agency provides assistance in the implementation of the project of Accuray company on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. The local partner for the establishment of a district/interregional center of nuclear medicine with the use of equipment of Accuray company based on Tatarstan Regional Clinical Cancer Center on the principles of the public private partnership is CJSC "Delrus".

The Accuray company, as one of the world leaders in radiosurgery, is developing "CyberKnife" system which is a robotic radiosurgery system intended for tumor treatment in any place in the body with submilimetric precision. The Agency organized several visits of the delegation of Accuray company. On October 13, 2016, the project of creation of interregional center of nuclear medicine was presented at presidium session of the Investment council of the Republic of Tatarstan where it was endorsed. Tomotherapy equipment (the only one in the world with built-in computer tomograph) makes it possible to effectively irradiate oncological diseases without damaging healthy tissue. The project of installation and maintenance of one Thomotherapy machine was approved. In 10 years, the project will enable to cure over 14500 patients, to create the first educational center in Russia, to develop medical tourism in the Republic of Tatarstan by involving patients from all over the Russian Federation.
