"Nizhnekamskneftekhim" launched a new production of isobutylene

Today, the production of isobutylene with capacity of 160 thousand tons per year was launched in Nizhnekamsk. Tatarstan’s President Rustam Minnikhanov, Director General of JSC "TAIF" Albert Shigabutdinov, Chairman of the Board of PJSC "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" Vladimir Busygin, Director General of PJSC "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" Azat Bikmurzin and the Head of Nizhnekamsk municipal district Aidar Metshin took part in the opening ceremony.

The new production will create 68 new jobs, and the capacity of the plant will allow to solve the problem of increasing the production of rubber SKI-3 to 330 thousand tons per year, the press-service of the President reports.

Isobutylene is a raw material for production of isoprene which is the main component in the production of synthetic isoprene and butyl rubbers widely used in the tire industry for production of rubber products for various purposes. Isobutylene is also used in PJSC "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" to obtain organoaluminum compounds.

The new production meets all the modern technological solutions for safety of equipment and personnel, as well as energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.

Azat Bikmurzin also said, that preparation of the construction site for a new olefin complex in Nizhnekamsk will be started in July.
