KazanSummit 2016: a link between Russia and Islamic World countries
The International Economic Summit «Russia — the Islamic World: KazanSummit », a main platform for economic interaction between Russian regions and countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, continues its work in the capital of Tatarstan.
«The Summit became a place for meeting and open dialog between Russia and the Islamic World countries» — with such words Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov greeted participants of business breakfast. «KazanSummit is an important tool for constructive work in the field of the Islamic finance in our country» — concluded Rustam Minnikhanov.
KazanSummit became the most large-scale and international event throughout eight-year history of the forum, held in Kazan since 2009. 1556 representatives from 51 countries, including heads of diplomatic missions of the Islamic states, ministries of countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, deputies of the State Duma, the Federation Council and Russian regions, participated in the summit.
International conference on investment and innovative opportunities of Halal industry took place in the course of the summit. Medical tourism with a standard in Halal, as well as perspectives of Muslim medical clinic construction in Kazan, which will meet all requirements of Islam were discussed. Discussion on Islamic and partner banking was held at four platforms at the same time. IT-industry`s issues were discussed along with traditional themes for the Islamic economy and other relevant topics.
At the KazanSummit, Sberbank arranged a business breakfast — a traditional attribute of the main economic forums in Russia. Sheik Zafir Najar, executive director of the Islamic Council of South Africa, a number of representatives of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, the head of Ingushetia, were among VIP-guests of the breakfast. Host of the event — Sberbank represented by the first deputy of CEO Maxim Poletayev, greeted guests in three languages and complimented Tatarstan for the KazanSummit.
«Sberbank business breakfast in Kazan is a good tradition, which should be followed in the future. We will ask Mr. German Gref to participate in our meeting next time» — shared his feelings the first deputy of Sberbank CEO Maxim Poletayev.
Trilateral agreement on creation of special credit products for residents of Chenly`s territory of priority socio-economic development was signed between Tatarstan`s Government , Sberbank and the administration of Naberezhnye Chelny in the course of plenary session, as the most beautiful action of the summit. Taliya Minullina signed an agreement between Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and the Association IBIA. Ten different agreements were signed in total in the framework of the international economic forum.
«We scale up the Kazansummit. If we really want to make it a platform where Russian regions have an opportunity for open dialog with the OIC countries, we should bring Russian subjects and not only muslim ones into it, all parties should be active participants. The same applies to partner banking, which according to experts can bring $11 bln investment to Russia and it is a big money,» — said Taliya Minullina. This year`s Forum showed its effectiveness. Participants tell more about concrete actions. If it were just words before, now there are real projects, proposals and cooperation«.
The State Secretary of the Central Bank Alexander Torshin also noted that talks about necessity of relations with the Islamic banking development are continuing for several years. «We must move on from words to deeds!»
In general all guests noted the high level of the VIII International economic summit organization and carrying.
«I was in China and other countries» — says Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, the head of Ingushetia, referring to his experience in attending international summits. «I saw if not the best but one of really international level, as a minimum, here. This is very encouraging, because our country is evaluated by Kazan. Representatives of countries see a good attitude to Muslims in Russia».
«This is my first visit to Kazan and I really liked the capital of Tatarstan,» — shares his impressions the Ambassador of Sudan to Russia Nadir Yusif Eltayeb. «My goal at the summit is to tell about attractiveness of Sudan, which is a good place for business and making investment, we are open for all endeavors. It should be reminded that KazanSummit 2016 is held in Kazan from May 19 to 21, 2016. Traditional Muslim meeting «Izge Bolgar Zhiyeni» in Bolgar city with solemn groundbreaking ceremony of Bolgar Islamic Academy building will be a final event of the summit.
