Italian business: localization of production in Tatarstan

On September, 19, the representative of Italian company V.Orlandi Mr. Marco Rimondi visited the Investment Development Agency. The aim of the visit was the discussion on placement of the production on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan.

V. Orlandi is one of the largest industrial enterprises specializing in design and manufacture of tow units for vehicles and trailers. It was founded in 1859. The company is the supplier of spare parts for automotive trucks of the world manufacturers: Mercedes, Volvo, Scania, Iveco, DAF, MAN, Kamaz.

During the meeting the parties discussed such issues as choice of the site and logistic capabilities, touched topics of human resources, accessibility of infrastructure, banking services, taxation and customs regulation. Potential investors were informed about advantages of special economic zone «Alabuga», preferences for resident companies and infrastructure, created for enterprises on the territory of SEZ.

«There are more than 400 Italian companies and about 160 Russian-Italian joint ventures on the Russian market. Tatarstan actively works with such companies as «Pirelli», «Fiat», «Tecnimont». One of the residents of SEZ «Alabuga» is Italian enterprise «Pixar Coatings». All this confirms that Italy is one of the largest trade and economic partners of Russia and Tatarstan» — the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency noted.

It should be reminded that the President of the Republic of Tatarstan will have an appointment with the management of Italian company V. Orlandi in the framework of the official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan to Federal Republic of Germany (Hanover). The Agreement to set up a working group between Public Company «Kamaz» and V.Orlandi S.P.A. was adopted earlier. The parties are elaborating key-questions with the participation of the Investment Development Agency.
