Czech Republic considers Tatarstan for localization of high-tech production

The Czech companies regard Tatarstan as the site to accommodate their technological business. In particular, the European enterprises are interested in the segments of nano-, bio-technology and IT. This was stated by the participants of the delegation of the Czech Republic at the meeting with the leadership of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.

In the framework of negotiations on possible economic cooperation, the representatives of Czech business community noted the greatest interest in the areas of new technologies. Currently, up to 60%-70% of the total economic interaction between Tatarstan and the Czech Republic falls to the lot of engineering, transportation systems and energy.

The delegation included representatives of the Government of the Czech Republic, headed by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Jiri Koliba and entrepreneurs from different industries. "They all consider the republic as a site for localization of production", - Mr. Jiri Koliba noted.


Individual approach to investors

As the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina stated, the republic is ready to work not only with the country's large corporations, but also with the Czech small and medium-sized business. The trade turnover between Tatarstan and Czech in the first half of 2017 amounted to $202 million exceeding the similar preceding year's figures.

"We would be pleased to receive Czech companies, including in individual format as this allows to find a solution for each investor. Each entrepreneur needs one's own program to work in the republic, selected in compliance with the company's profile. We are ready to work with businessmen personally to maintain the effectiveness of cooperation at a high level," - the Head of the Agency Taliya Minullina reported.

The CEO of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency also presented the guests the economic potential of Tatarstan and opportunities the investors get after entering the Russian market through Tatarstan.

Taliya Minullina told the participants of the delegation about the development strategy of the republic "Tatarstan - 2030" by which Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny and Almetyevsk will become economic centers of Tatarstan surrounded by certain brunches of economy.

In Kazan agglomeration, the main development vectors will be educational sphere, information technologies, medicine. In Kama - industry and machine engineer, in Almetyevsk - oil-refining. The industry-oriented companies will receive here additional benefits, Taliya Minullina noted.

In addition, Tatarstan invites Czech investors to work in agriculture, production of building materials, industry of tourism and hospitality, the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency pointed out.


Cooperation between Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and "Czech Trade"

Yilek Stepan, the Representative of Czech agency of trade support "Czech Trade" which is in charge of promotion of country's export, proposed to identify concrete steps to cooperation and start with companies in machine engineering industry. According to him, the country is interested in creating joint-productions with Tatarstan.

In Kazan, the guests took part in Tatarstan-Czech business forum and had a meeting with the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin. Czech delegation also participated in the Session of Joint Working Group for coordination of trade and economic cooperation between Tatarstan and Czech Republic.

Let us recall that since April 2016, there is a regular flight between Tatarstan and Czech Republic - the service is carried out by "Czech Airlines" company. The President of Czech Republic Mr. Milos Zeman plans to visit Russia in November.
