American companies choose Tatarstan
The relationship between USA and Russia are controversial, however, the links are developing. In 2016, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency organized visits to the USA where it presented investment potential of the Republic of Tatarstan and held sectoral meetings with world-famous American companies.
The Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina was appointed responsible from the government of Tatarstan for cooperation with the State of California.
Last year was also filled with the visits of American companies in Tatarstan. It is noteworthy that all the visits were of specific character with detailed development of the initiated projects.
The meetings in business associations have always been convenient communication tool with potential investors. So, on October 12, 2016 the presentation for the members of American Chamber of Commerce in Russia, uniting 500 companies and organizations, was given, the Agreement on cooperation between American Chamber of Commerce in Russia and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan was signed.
On February 15, in the framework of the working visit in the Republic of Tatarstan, the delegation of American Chamber of Commerce and Industry headed by the Director for business development Yegor Zaostrovtsev, visited Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.
The representatives of such brand companies as McDonald's, Philip Morris International, PricewaterhouseCoopers, ANCOR Holding, Mars were among the delegation.
The work of American Chamber of Commerce in Russia is focused on creation of more favorable conditions for business development in Russia. Acting as a link between the members of the Chamber, State and Government representatives as well as business leaders of the USA and Russia, the Chamber tries to identify problems impeding the proper business development and find mutually beneficial solution that would be acceptable to the parties.
A number of questions was discussed at the meeting with the representatives of American business circles. Year over year, international corporation PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers - PwC) and Tatarstan Investment Development Agency are successfully working on "the investor's guide". The guide is available on each page of the Investment portal (http://invest.tatarstan.ru) in Russian and English versions. For the year 2016, the document was downloaded about 1000 times, in proportion 6:1 of English version to Russian.
Development Director of network of providers of McDonald's company in Russia expressed a desire to join Investors Club of the Republic of Tatarstan as solution methods and project administration of the club are very similar to his own work.
"Our organizations are similar in job description. We deal with issues relating to improvement of regulatory environment in Russia and Tatarstan and provide assistance on issues that arise for individual companies and organizations, as well as promote business development of companies, creating extensive opportunities for business communication.
I would like to note that Americans are the men of the business, they do count their money and take advantage of opportunities. Despite the sanctions, the companies choose Tatarstan. And with the new President of the United States coming to power, I hope, our relations will become even closer", - the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina pointed out.
