Ambassador of Sweden pays a visit to Tatarstan
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden Peter Ericson was warmly welcomed by the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina.
Taliya Minullina presented economical and investment potential of the Republic of Tatarstan, told about transport infrastructure and educational centers of Tatarstan, special economic zones "Alabuga" and "Innopolis".
Ambassador of Sweden noted that he always wanted to visit Kazan since his stay at the diplomatic service in Russia since 2015.
During the meeting, joint projects were also discussed: thus, "IKEA" is developing dynamically in Tatarstan and brings investments to the republican budget every year. Tatarstan also works with the Kingdom of Sweden in the sphere of communication, informatization, technology development and innovation. For example, the creation of the "Idea" technopark in Tatarstan was based on the Swedish experience. The Concerns "Volvo" and "Scania" are partners in joint projects of KAMAZ, and more than 20 farms of the republic use the technology of Swedish company "DeLaval" while feeding and milking livestock.
Now, the possibility of cooperation with the world telecommunication company Ericsson is being explored. The company plans to establish call-center, helpdesk. The first support line is intended to create 100-200 jobs, with a potential of up to 400 jobs.
A list of Swedish companies-possible investors in Tatarstan was prepared by the Agency and referred to the Ambassador for further interaction.
"Today, the best practices in attraction of investors and support of business are implemented in Tatarstan, - Taliya Minullina noted. - The result of our work is confirmed by actual rates: for the third consecutive year, Tatarstan ranked first in the rating of investment climate among Russian entities. We are interested in cooperation with Sweden and ready to fully support to Sweden partners in Tatarstan".
On August 10, the meeting of the Ambassador of Sweden to the Russian Federation Peter Ericson with participation of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina was held. During the meeting, the outcome of the visit was summed up and further steps for cooperation were discussed. It was also agreed to organize mutual visits of Tatarstan and Sweden business communities in the near future.
