10 years of cooperation between Tatarstan and Germany: a new stage

These days, the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina is visiting the Federal Republic of Germany as a part of official of Tatarstan delegation headed by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The delegation of Tatarstan is planning to take part in the 20th Anniversary International Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber «K-2016» which held from 19 till 26 of October in Düsseldorf.

It is the world largest exhibition in the area of research & development, production and technologies, application of plastics and rubbers. «K» trade fair is held every 3 years. This year, over 3 000 exhibitors from all over the world presented their pilot projects in 19 halls of «Messe Düsseldorf» with the total area of 168 thousands square meters. The expected number of visitors is at least 220 thousands people.

In the framework of the official visit, a number of business meetings was held with managers of such German companies as ThyssenKrupp, Wilo, MMC Neuwirth, SMS Group, A.Schulman and Lehnvoss. Also, the meetings were held with the Board Chairman of Messe Dusseldorf exhibition center Werner Dornscheidt and Lord Mayor of Düsseldorf Thomas Geisel.

One of the key points was the meeting with the representatives of North Rhine Westfalia business community with participation of State Secretary of Ministry of Economy of North Rhine-Westphalia Gunther Horzetzky. During this meeting, the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency presented modern Tatarstan, as well as investment and economic attractiveness of the republic.

«The commodity turnover between Tatarstan and Germany for the year 2015 exceeded €1 billion,» — stated the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina. — «In more than 10 years of fruitful cooperation we have implemented a large number of business-projects. New business ideas are being discussed now.

Let us remind, this was a reciprocal visit from the Republic of Tatarstan. On September 2016, State Secretary of Ministry of Economy of North Rhine-Westphalia Gunther Horzetzky paid an official visit to Kazan, where the parties discussed the prospectives and mechanisms of mutually benefitial cooperation, including the investment sphere.

It should be mentioned that such leading German companies as Siemens (communications, energy, equipment leasing), BASF (chemical products), Bosch (mechanical engineering), KraussMaffei (petrochemistry), Linde (chemistry), Knorr-Bremse (KAMAZ accessories), Zahnradfabrik (KAMAZ transmission), Voith (automatic transmission) and SARIA Bio-Industries (processing of raw materials of animal origin) are working successfully in Tatarstan. In addition, such German trading networks as «Metro», «Media Markt», «Selgros» and «Wurth» are very popular among citizens of the Republic. A number of companies and banks of Tatarstan have ties with «Dresdner Bank», «Deutsche Bank», «Commerzbank». And the opening of a regular direct flight between Moscow and Frankfurt am Main simplified contacts between business partners.
