 Reference: The district is located in the southern part of the Republic of Tatarstan, bordering with Alexeyevsky, Nurlatsky, Spassky municipal districts, as well as with Ulyanovsk and Samara regions of Russia. The administrative center is the village of Bazarnye Mataki, located 152 km from Kazan, about 200 km from Ulyanovsk, and 220 km from Samara. The population is 19068 people. National composition: Tatars - about 64.2%, Chuvashes - 18.2%, Russians - 15.7%.

 Farmer Fanis Bakirov has always dreamed of horse breeding. Having worked as a tractor driver for many years, he decided to make his dream come true. What kind of breed to breed on the land, which was the cradle of the Bulgarian civilization centuries ago? Of course, it was a local one! Fanis Bakirov won a grant, built a horse farm, and began to collect herds. Horses had to be bought one by one, in several Russian regions. Now the entrepreneur is a breeder of an officially registered Tatar horse. The main herd is more than two hundred heads; every year mares bring 100-120 foals. The farmer sells them for breeding and also sells horses mainly in Kazan. In 2017, Fanis Bakirov became the winner of the national contest “Entrepreneur of the Year. Golden Hundred”.

Also, the entrepreneur has launched a line for the production of concrete products and organized a small logistics company. About 30 machines take up to 120 tons of milk a day from Alkeevsky, Cheremshansky, Novosheshminsky, Alekseevsky, Nurlatsky, Leninogorsky, and Spassky districts and drive it to Moscow and Samara regions. 

 To help those who plan to start their own business, the district has created an industrial site "Golden Valley" with an area of 35.9 hectares, designed for 10 residents. Two current residents specialize in servicing of imported cargo equipment, repair of cargo equipment, and manufacture of spare parts. The site has everything necessary for building greenhouses and processing meat products.
