Aktanysh District

The most eastern, the farthest, and the most legendary district of the republic - Aktanyshsky, only a hundred years ago became Tatarstan when it became part of the Tatar ASSR. Two centuries before Aktanysh land belonged to the Orenburg and Ufa provinces.
 

 Reference. Aktanyshsky district is located in the north-east of Tatarstan. Its total area - 2034 square kilometers. km, 61.5% of which occupy agricultural land. The district is home to 30.5 thousand people, 97% of whom are Tatars. The administrative center is the village of Aktanysh, located in the north of the district, 381 km from Kazan.

 Clean, tidy Aktanysh, with a population of less than ten thousand, only three years of its history was considered an urban-type settlement, from 1988 to 1991 Now it is again a village, but the largest in the district, with its industrial enterprises: two bread factories, one bakery, one dairy, and “heavy” - Aktanysh aggregate plant.

 The main area of concern for Aktanysh residents is agriculture. There are few forests, many rivers, lakes, and excellent fertile soils, and therefore the wheat, rye, barley, oats, peas, and rape grow well here. For example, in 2018 the district harvested a record harvest of cereals, which made up 5% of the total yield of Tatarstan - 32.5 centners per hectare. And this even though the summer was dry! Cows are also well milked here. In the tacit rating of agrarian regions of the Republic in Aktanyshsky district the fourth place in milk yield - 156 tons per day.

 But the main pride of Aktanysh residents - their countryman, who glorified the entire Tatar nation, the first president of the Republic of Tatarstan, and one of the most influential Russian politicians of the beginning of the XXI century, Mintimer Shaimiev. He was born here, in the village of Anyakovo, Aktanyshsky district.

 How to “bring up”12 presidents

 From Aktanysh to Anyakovo - 49 kilometers. In 1937, when Mintimer Shaimiev was born, it was a strong village, where several hundred people lived and there was a collective farm. The father of little Mintimer - Sharip, returning from the front, became chairman of the kolkhoz and worked in this position for 26 years. In the village he is still remembered in kind words - remember, respect, and believe that the first president of Tatarstan by character - all in his father. That is why they immortalized his memory, opening in 2005 the House-Museum of Sharip Shaimiev. By that time Mintimer Sharipovich had been leading Tatarstan for 14 years.

 This is a typical village house of a large Tatar family in the middle of the XX century - wooden, with a porch and a terrace. When the family moved into it in 1956, Mintimer Shaimiev was 19 years old, he had already two years, as flew out of his parents' nest and studied in Kazan. Nevertheless, the museum demonstrates the typical life of a Tatar family in the first half of the 20th century - the environment where the future president grew up.

 Each year the museum is visited by several thousand people, most of them children - for educational purposes. They walk around the manor, look at the personal belongings of the Shaimievs' family, listen to the stories, feel the atmosphere, and perhaps understand how it “grows into the presidents”. The recipe is familiar and simple: study, work, responsibility, love for the homeland. This formula of success from Anyakovo is delivered in school excursion buses all over Tatarstan.

 But the Shaimiev Museum is not the only point of attraction for tourists in the Aktanyshsky district. The main thing worth going to here is nature and its gifts.

 What is mined in Aktanysh

 Moose to the Christmas table, or rabbit - just for fun, or even a fox - to his wife on the collar... Every year in the area comes to a lot of men with guns - hunting. They come from all districts of Tatarstan, from neighboring Bashkiria and Udmurtia, and even from abroad. The farthest guest hunters came from the USA, and the “peculiarities of national hunting” in Aktanyshsky district were very satisfied. There are many reasons for that.

 First, there are large hunting grounds that cover almost the entire territory of the district (except for the Kamsko- Iksky wildlife preserve), which is 193.5 thousand hectares. Secondly, there is a wealth of hunting resources. Here you can get moose, wild boar, hare, badger, marten, partridge, roe deer, beaver, muskrat, raccoon dog, American mink. Thirdly, there are no problems with the organization of fishing. In the area, there is a public organization of hunters and fishermen, which helps with the purchase of licenses, and with transportation (from SUVs and tractors to snowmobiles and motorboats), and with the services of rangers, and, of course, with accommodation and recreation. In a word - a paradise for hunters. It is no wonder that every year at least one and a half thousand of them come here.

The main object of prey - waterfowl and marsh and meadow game, because this land is covered with rivers, lakes, and swamps. The largest in Tatarstan swamp massif Kulyagash is located here, in the north-east of Aktanysh district. It is a complex marsh and lake complex with an area of almost 5 hectares, where there are many birds. Great snipes, gallinago, corncrake, mallards, geese, and ducks of different species - there is a place for a hunting soul! 

In general, it is difficult for men from the Aktanyshsky district to leave without prey. For those who prefer a peaceful fishing rod to arms, here is a great river fishing - on Kama and Belaya. To arrange a “fish day” can be both in winter and summer - in the area operates a company Neptune, which has been fishing itself for thirteen years, and helps in organizing fishing amateurs. The usual local catch is bream and pike, catfish and zander, crucian carp and roach. Even vegetarians have their own “hunting” here - quiet, mushroom. In summer, in Barsukovsky and Garayevsky forests, they collect aspen, birch, and suillus, and in autumn, in pine plantations of Alimovsky and Bugadinsky - redheads and poplars.

 But no matter what kind of prey the guests take away from Aktanyshsky district - stuffed with game yagdtash, full of a fish garden or a huge basket of mushrooms, one thing is certain: they will return here. Behind the clean air, behind the beautiful landscapes, behind the active rest in nature, after which there is a complete reboot of the psyche.

And the tourist and hunting infrastructure of the district “reset” is still not enough. Few guesthouses, few catering outlets, and poor service. The field of activity for investors is free and perfectly “fertilized”. 

 How to ride like in Aktanish

At the age of 67, not everyone can be the first to ski dashingly on a steep slope, and also the first to “take a sample”. And the most famous actress was able to. In 2004, Mintimer Shaimiev, having tested the slopes just opened on the Sviyaga ski complex, took the whole republic into this sport. Everyone wanted to ride with the wind, from small to large. 

 After 16 years, it became clear that the sports and active Tatarstanis lack two modern ski complexes - near Kazan and Almetyevsk. And then Aktanyshsky district decided to build a new “skiing” on his own, in the expectation that it will come here from all over the east of the country. We decided, announced, and began work.

 Now experts are already working on the project of the future complex, the district authorities have allocated 4.5 million rubles for this. The very construction of Aktanyshsky ski resort will cost once in 10 times more expensive, and wise investors can already pick up areas for promising investments. After all, in addition to three pistes and two ski elevators ski complex will need a lot of other entertainment that allows it to work all year round. What it will be - golf courses near Kazan, a sanatorium like in Almetyevsk, shooting gallery, bowling, billiards, or something else - will be decided in the process. Obviously, near the ski resort in Aktanysh should appear hotels, cafes, restaurants, stores, playgrounds for children, souvenir stores, rental equipment - that is, all the accompanying tourist service that will give work to small and medium businesses.

Reference. In the future ski complex, Aktanysh plans three tracks: two for skiers, 435 and 450 meters each, and one for tubing - 150 meters. Elevators will also be separate - for skiers and tubing skiers. The complex will be located on 100 hectares, equipped with a system of artificial snowing, and will be well lit. 

 For a quiet agrarian area, the decision to build a ski complex is a real breakthrough and good prospects for rapid development. “The future” ski “will be a new tourist product for Aktanysh, which will attract tens of thousands of visitors to the area, will give new jobs to residents, and will be a favorite place for the rest of the Tatarstan people. All this is a good magnet for investors who, I have no doubt, will find new prospects for themselves in Aktanysh district”, - said the head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan Talia Minullina.

 And this means that Aktanyshsky District will soon change significantly, and everyone can take part in these changes. There would be a desire.

1.   The area has a rich stock of peat. The largest peat bog in Tatarstan is located here - an area of 3092 hectares.
