The development of innovation technologies in the financial sector was discussed at the Finopolis-2016 forum

On 13 October, the Second Forum of Innovative Financial Technologies «Finopolis-2016» started. The key representatives of the largest companies of financial market, IT-industry and controllers of the segment gathered at the territory of Korston Hotel & Mall to discuss the development of innovative technologies in the financial sector. The event was organized by the Bank of Russia and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The Forum was attended by the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina, the Governor of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina, the Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank of Russia Herman Gref and others.

On the first day, two plenary meetings were held. The first session focused on the theme «Financial Market in 2026: Challenges for Business and Regulator». The speakers at the conference included the Governor of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina, the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the debate was moderated by the Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank of Russia Herman Gref. The second one was dedicated to «Cybersecurity in the Face of New Challenges and Threats», with participation of Eugene Kaspersky, the Chairman and CEO of «Kaspersky Lab». It should be mentioned that this is not the first large-scale event of the federal level with participation of Sberbank of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan. This May, in the framework of International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC countries «KazanSummit» a business breakfast of Sberbank was held with the participation of the First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank Maxim Poletaev, who promised to take part in «Kazansummit-2017» with Herman Gref.

The same day the contest of FinTech-startups was held, organized jointly with a federal accelerator GenerationS. 18 pre-selected startups presented their projects during special events of the forum.

It should be added that during these two days of the event at 17 breakout sessions and round-table discussions such questions as regulation of innovative financial technologies and business-models, development of specific technologies, like blockchain, Big Data instruments, artificial intelligence, Open API will be discussed.

The forum included the signing of a number of cooperation agreements with the participation of the President of Tatarstan, the Governor of the Bank of Russia and the Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank of Russia.

Besides that, Rustam Minnikhanov and Herman Gref visited Zelenodolsk, where the project «Tatarstan Resident’s Card» was presented.
