«Tajikistan-Tatarstan» Business Forum: towards the implementation of trade and economic potential

Today, in Dushanbe, within «Tajikistan-Tatarstan» business forum, trade and economic potential of two republics was presented and possible joint projects were discussed. The forum was attended by the Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda and the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

«We attach great importance to development of cooperation with Tajikistan within Russian-Tajik relations and will be happy to expand mutually beneficial ties. For our part, we are ready to provide overall assistance in their development», - Rustam Minnikhanov noted in his welcoming speech.

Among the enterprises of the republic cooperating with Tajikistan, the leaders are PJSC «KAMAZ», PJSC «Tatneft», JSC «TAIF», JSC «Tatchempharmpreparaty», JSC «POZIS» and others.

At the meeting of the President of Tatarstan with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon it was announced that the republics will create intergovernmental working group aimed at development of economic ties and stimulation of trade growth. The working group will support projects of Tatarstani companies in Tajikistan and attract representatives of Tajik business to Tatarstan.

In addition, Minnikhanov invited representatives of government and business of Tajikistan to the capital of Tatarstan to participate in the 11th International Economic Summit «Russia - Islamic world: KazanSummit 2019», which will be held in Kazan on April 24-26.

KazanSummit is an international platform for strengthening trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural ties.

«In February of this year, during the visit of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Russia Imomuddin Sattorov we defined the areas for strengthening cooperation and the possibilities of creation of joint ventures in the field of metalworking, machine engineering, food industry, and have set a task to increase the turnover between the republics. And today we are taking a big step towards achieving our goals. There is potential for this, and we will present it to the business circles of the two sides at the Summit and the International Exhibition «Russia Halal Expo». Tatarstan is interested in expanding cooperation with Tajikistan», - the Head of tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina stated.

Serious intentions on strengthening cooperation between the republics were officially fixed on the sidelines of the business forum by signing agreements between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Tatarstan.
