The Secretary-General of Organization of Islamic Cooperation: "I will take part in the forthcoming "KazanSummit 2017" personally"

Today, in the framework of the working visit in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met the Secretary-General of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Dr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen. The head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina also attended the meeting.

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation is the largest and the most powerful official governmental Muslim international organisation. Currently, it unites 57 countries with about 1,5 billion inhabitants. 

"The dialogue and cooperation between the Russian Federation and your organisation are  particularly important", — Rustam Minnikhanov empasized at the beginning of the meeting with Dr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen: "Tatarstan is proud of its contribution in development of Russian ties with such an influential international organisation. We are glad that we have established permanent dialogue both with the central office of the OIC and its departments.  Unfortunately, there are many regions in the world, where there is no peace and harmony.  We, as Muslims, are very concerned about it. Russian President Vladimir Putin pays special attention to achieving peace in the Middle East". Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen confirmed of his awareness of peaceful coexistence of different religions in Tatarstan. "Both Muslims and non-Muslims feel themselves comfortable in the Republic, all of them live like brothers. I hope, such situation will continue to remain".

The President of Tatarstan pointed out that since 2014 the work of the Strategic Vision Group for Russia and the Islamic World resumed its operation and, on behalf of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, Rustam Minnikhanov holds the chairmanship. On May 18-20, 2017 in the Group's activities the IX International Economic Summit “Russia — Islamic World: KazanSummit»
 will be held. Rustam Minnikhanov invited Dr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen to participate in forthcoming Summit.

The Secretary-General of OIC accepted invitation with enthusiasm: "We support the Summit. This site gives business opportunities to 57 countries of our Organisation. I hope, KazanSummit 2017 will become the event resulting in the possipility for all the members of OIC to become investors. The Summit is a bridge between investors and opportunities. "I am going to take part in the forthcoming "KazanSummit 2017" personally".
