Tatarstan Investment Development Agency will present the results of 2018 and plans for 2019

On January 2019, at 10 a.m., the final board meeting of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency "On results of the Agency's work in 2018 and tasks for 2019" will be held in "Korston Club Hotel Kazan" (Yershov Street, 1A, Kazan, Ballroom, 2nd floor).

Members of the Office of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, territorial administrations of federal authorities, consular representation of foreign countries in the Republic of Tatarstan, Public Council under Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, as well as investors, representatives of financial and business community will take part in the board meeting.

The meeting will be chaired by Farid Mukhametshin who is the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina will make a keynote presentation and tell about the efficiency of the executive body: on development of the investment infrastructure of the republic, the opening of new industries in the territory of Tatarstan, how many millions of dollars the republic earns per day, cooperation with which countries brings strong financial ties, who invests in Tatarstan again and again, and will also represent the most successful investment projects.

The Head of the Division on Globalization and Development Strategies of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Igor Paunovic, the Chairman of the Public Chamber of Tatarstan Anatoly Fomin, the Director General of SEZ "Alabuga" Timur Shagivaleev and others will also speak at the meeting.

In 2018, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency carried out a large-scale work to improve the favorable investment climate of the republic. The Agency organized over 10 summits, forums and conferences on the territory of Tatarstan, the largest of which traditionally was the International Economic Summit "Russia-Islamic World: KAZANSUMMIT": it was attended by 3 000 people - the representatives of 53 countries, 27 regions of Russia, ambassadors of 17 diplomatic missions.

Economic and investment potential, as well as achievements of Tatarstan were presented at the largest forums of the world within the exhibition. The Unified Presentation Center of the Republic for official delegations from different countries and representatives of business community hosted over 200 presentations and negotiations on strengthening cooperation with participation of more than 1 600 representatives of Russia and foreign countries.

As a result of 5 meetings of the Investment Council of Tatarstan for the implementation of projects 11 applications for allocation of land, 41 projects for implementation on ADZ were approved, 4 applications have been supported for both indicators.

The recognition at the world level became an important result of 2018: Tatarstan Investment Development Agency is the only in Russia to have won the United Nations Investment Promotion Award for outstanding achievements in promoting investment in sectors that will bring social and economic benefits and help countries to achieve sustainable development goals.

The volume of investments in fixed assets is estimated at 668,9 billion rubles, which is 31,3 billion rubles more than in 2017. The foreign trade turnover of the republic for the year is planned to reach 19 billion USD, which is higher than in 2017 by 12,1%. Export of goods will increase by 15,3% to 15,1 billion USD. Imports of goods will increase by 1,5% to 3,9 billion USD.

"2018 was a successful year for us. We note an increase in fixed investment. In addition, we it's not the investment growth only, but also the geography of countries-investors", - the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina shared.

In December 2018, the contest #InvestInTatarstan2019 was launched in order to promote Tatarstan in social media and develop investment involvement of the Internet users, in which 100 thousand roubles were given away: the General sponsor of the competition is Ak Bars Bank. The award ceremony will be held as part of the final event of the Agency.
