Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting with Ambassador of Spain to Russia Ignacio Ibanez: Today, it is important to maintain positive relations

On June 21, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Russia Ignacio Ibanez.

Minnikhanov congratulated the Ambassador on the victory of the Spanish team at the match between Spain and Iran, which was hold at the Kazan Arena Stadium, on June 20.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in a number of areas between Spain and Tatarstan as one of the regions of Russia. In particular, it was noted that it is important to develop the sphere of tourism and to support interaction in the area of culture, education and science.

“We pay much attention to cooperation with Spain as part of Russian-Spanish relations,” Minnikhanov said. He also noted that the manufacturing of auto parts, engineering, information technology, as well as agriculture and health are among the industries in which the experience of Spanish companies is important for Tatarstan.

The Ambassador of Spain to Russia thanked Minnikhanov for the support provided during the preparation for the trip. He emphasized that the Spanish were happy to know that the team will play in Kazan.

Ibanez also noted that the Spanish embassy understands that it is important to explore the Russian regions and to travel there. “Acquaintance with the Russian regions is an important issue for us,” he said.
