Plant for sterilization of medical instruments was launched in Tatarstan

The new production for sterilization of disposable medical instruments was launched in Laishevo district of Tatarstan. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Director General for Surgery - Head of Cardiovascular Surgery Department of "National Medical and Research Center of Cardiology" of Ministry of Health of Russia Renat Akchurin, chairman of Russian Public Council of Medical Industry Yuriy Kalinin and others took part in the opening ceremony. New plant specializes in production, sterilization and packaging of thermo-labile types of plastic, rubber, metal and electromechanical medical materials, instruments and equipment. This is a project of Kazan Medical Instruments Plant (KMIP), which started in 2016. This year alone, the enterprise will supply products for 100 million rubles to the medical institutions. It is expected that the annual growth of production will result in more than 200 million rubles. By 2020, the production will reach 1,2 billion rubles per year. Last year, the volume of Russian market of disposable medical instruments inclusive of consumables amounted to 83 billion rubles. In doing so, foreign materials represent 86% of all products. The opening of the new plant solves the issue of import substitution. Representatives of KMIP reported that over 50 jobs will be created at the enterprise.
