A new stage in Tunisian-Tatarstani relations

The Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina as a part of Tatarstan's delegation headed by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has paid a working visit to the Republic of Tunisia.

"Tunisia is a gateway between Africa and Europe, that allows African countries to get access to the European products, and European countries use Tunisia as a transport hub", - Taliya Minullina shared.

In the frames of the business trip, first persons of Tatarstan together with the Prime Minister of Tunisia Youssef Chahed and the Minister of Commerce of Tunisia Omar Béhi discussed the opportunities of trade, economic and cultural cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan.

The main aim of the visit was holding Tunisian-Tatarstani Business Forum. At the forum, the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency represented economic and investment potential of our republic to the participants. The government of Tunisia supported the development of partnership between two countries and tightened it officially. An agreement for Cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tatarstan and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tunisia was signed.

The visit to Tunisia was really productive. So, Taliya Minullina discussed possible cooperation with Mohammed Amin Messaoud, the leading developer of Epilert company - the producer of diagnostic bracelets for health monitoring of epileptics. There was also the meeting with the owner of one of the largest producers of food products based on authentic Tunisian recipes with the use of the best Tunisian raw materials - Safir company. The owner of the company is Zammir Ayachi.

"As a result of all the meetings, the ways of development of cooperation in the sphere of machine engineering, aviation, electronics and agriculture were outlined. These are the main areas where Tunisia is really strong. For example, last year only olive oil was produced for 2 billion dinars which is 200 thousand tons in absolute value.

We are very pleased with the results of the trip. Our next meeting will be held in the capital of Tatarstan: a large delegation of the Republic of Tunisia will take part in the International Economic Summit "Russia – Islamic world" in April 2019. We were invited to the investment forum, which will be held in Tunisia on June 20-21. The plan of cooperation has been established, which means that we are on the way to joint success", – the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina added.
