Baltic investment cyclone is expected to hit Tatarstan

The delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan pays a working visit to the Republic of Latvia these days, to finish on October, 6. The visit is headed by Tatarstan’s President Rustam Minnikhanov. Traditionally, the head of the Republic is accompanied by Chief Executive Officer of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, Ms. Taliya Minullina, business representatives and heads of Ministries and Departments.

In the framework of two-day working visit to Riga, the capital of the Republic of Latvia, the parties will discuss the questions of two-side economic cooperation. Meetings with the President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis, Prime Minister of Latvia Maris Kučinskis, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs, Ambassador of Russia to Latvia Alexander Veshnyakov and the Mayor of Riga Nils Ušakovs are on the list.

Moreover, on October 6, a round-table meeting «Tatarstan and Latvia — perspectives for cooperation» will be held, where investment potential of Tatarstan will be presented by the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, Ms. Taliya Minullina. The participants of the meeting will discuss development of Sviyazhsky Interregional Multimodal Logistics Center and participation of business of Tatarstan in improvement of Riga’s port . Latvian entrepreneurs will meet with Tatarstan ones — representatives of «Ammoni», «Yadran-Oil», «Mendeleevskazot», «ICL-KME CS» (IT), «Parallax», «AK BARS» OJSC.

One of the key-moments of the visit will be the discussion of possible opening of direct flight Riga — Kazan in May, 2017.

«It’s not a secret that Latvia is one of the most reasonable places for European life. The opening of direct flight Riga — Kazan will give a new spin to development of two-side relationship in tourism, create new opportunities for business» — the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina noted.

Let us recall that in April this year, the visit of delegation of Latvia headed by Ambassador Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Russia, Mrs. Astra Kurme took place in Tatarstan, where they met Tatarstan’s President Rustam Minnikhanov.
