"Alabuga" headed the National ranking on investment attractiveness of SEZ of Russia

Special economic zone "Alabuga" took the first place in the national ranking on investment attractiveness of the SEZ of Russia. The rating is compiled by the Association for the development of clusters and technology parks of Russia in order to determine the level of their investment attractiveness, availability of favorable conditions for attracting both Russian and foreign investors, encourage the development of competitiveness among management companies of SEZ in the struggle for investment, as well as replication of the best practices of SEZ management.

"Alabuga" has improved its position in comparison with 2017 by one line. The secont place went to Moscow vicinity Special Economic Zone of Technical-Innovative Type "DUBNA". SEZ of TIT "Technopolis Moscow" took the third place. SEZ "Lipetsk" and SEZ of TIT "Saint-Petersburg" entered the top five as well.

When compiling the rating, the Association evaluated 16 SEZs from 13 regions of Russia.

Experts assessed zones of industrial production and technical innovation type, as well as one port SEZ. The rating was based on the experience of 25 major Russian and international investment attractiveness ratings. In total, 27 indicators clustered into 6 groups were used: investment attractiveness of the Russian region; favorable conditions for business activities in SEZ, infrastructure availability; land resources; investment activity of SEZ residents; information transparency of the SEZ website.

"Alabuga" is situated in Yelabuga district of Tatarstan, provides investors with complete industrial, engineering, transport and customs infrastructure, as well as a number of tax and customs preferences.

According to federal legislation, investors are permitted to import raw materials, equipment, and components to the Alabuga SEZ duty free. Total investment in projects within the Alabuga SEZ exceeds USD 3 billion.

The winner received the award on November 23 in Moscow in the frames of the III Annual practical conference "Industrial Russia 4.0 – Improving the competitiveness of regions".
