Bilateral ties between Tatarstan and Armenia are developing slowly. Following the results of 2016, the total volume of foreign trade turnover between the Republic of Tatarstan and Armenia amounted to $8,5 million only.
Tatarstan's rubber, means of land transport, equipment and mechanical devices, cleaning supplies, ferrous metal products, tools and optical devices, foodstuffs are delivered to Erevan.
In turn, living trees and other plants, modified starches, various equipment, milk and meat products come from Armenia to Tatarstan.
Today, on May 24, the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation Vardan Toganyan.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the prospects of fostering cooperation between Tatarstan and Armenia within Russian-Armenian relations, establishing entrepreneurial relations, building investment partnership.
In particular, Taliya Minullina presented the investment potential of the Republic of Tatarstan and told about investment policy of the region.
The Ambassador expressed his intention to deliver production of Tatarstan's enterprises to Armenia, in particular helicopters and "KAMAZ" trucks. Reference was also made to the possible trade operations in agricultural and industrial sectors.
The main aim of the visit of Vardan Toganyan to Kazan is participation in the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government and the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council on May 25-26, 2017.
